Habitat System
River Stream Tank
A living stream with real current, riffles and pools — for exhibits, teaching and holding.
A stream habitat that behaves like a real river: controllable unidirectional current over riffles and pools, natural substrate and temperature control for native fish and invertebrates.
Designed, fabricated and tested in Cincinnati, Ohio
Runs on Aquafab Workbench — programming, calibration and data logging built in
Lifetime technical support, plus optional installation and training

Tell us about the stream you want to recreate.
A River Stream Tank recreates a living stream: real unidirectional current over natural substrate, riffles and pools, and the organisms that depend on them. Like all of our habitat systems, it is engineered to simulate the real environment — current, temperature and light behave the way they do in the river you are representing.
Highlights
- Controllable, unidirectional current with adjustable velocity
- Riffle-and-pool layouts with natural or custom substrate
- Temperature control for cold-water species
- Programmable daylight cycles in Aquafab Workbench
- Designed, built, installed and supported in-house
Equally at home as a public-gallery exhibit, a teaching tool for watershed ecology or a holding system for stream fish and invertebrates. Every stream tank is custom — tell us your species, space and goals and we will design around them.
