What is a life-support system?

Stable water, healthy animals, reliable data

Life-support systems keep holding tanks clean, oxygenated and at the right temperature so animals stay healthy between experiments — and so your study animals are consistent.

Water recirculates from the tanks through mechanical, biological and chemical filtration, then back to each tank, with sensors watching conditions around the clock.

  • Single, double or multi-rack configurations
  • Integrated filtration, monitoring and automation
  • Zebrafish specimen cups and holders for breeding and screening

Applications

Where our racks and holding systems work

Model-organism colonies

Zebrafish and other small-fish colonies, breeding and larval rearing.

Holding for experiments

Acclimation and holding before and after trials.

Core facilities

Scalable racks that grow with your program.

Powered by Aquafab Workbench

A facility that watches itself.

Aquafab Workbench monitors water quality and system performance, and alerts your team before small issues become animal-care problems.

Live monitoring

Continuous readings of the parameters that matter for your animals.

Remote alerts

Status alerts when conditions drift or a component needs service.

Scheduled maintenance

Automated routines that keep the system on schedule.

With every system

More than equipment.

Engineering review

Every configuration is checked by an engineer before we quote or build.

Factory-tested

Assembled, leak-tested and run in Cincinnati before it ships.

Documentation

Manuals, calibration records and Aquafab Workbench software.

Lifetime support

Direct access to the engineers who built your system.

FAQ

Life support questions

Can racks be expanded later?

Yes. Racks are modular, so you can start with one and add capacity as your program grows.

Do you make zebrafish specimen holders?

Don't see exactly what you need?

We'll build it.

Most of our systems start as a conversation. Describe your experiment and we'll design around it.
